Vick will apparently be exonerated

The post from the AJC (listed on this forum) is why people discuss the 'thug' reference. You're right, in I wouldn't expect Mike Vick to come on here and be offended. However, the stereotyping (or quick to judgement) that you complain about, is more or less what I think Hokie is referencing.

I mean putting it bluntly, if Mike Vick showed up in a 3 piece suit, said yes sir/no sir, spoke in Engligh that made the toughest English teacher smile, had a perfecely nice haircut, no piercings, tattoos or whatever....you would have some that the first time they seen him doing anything, anything that they could view as bad, would call him a thug. He looks, acts, dresses, talks differently. To cross the line a bit, do we ever see people that are some, that is the quickest way to down them, and guess what, it does't have to be a black thing, on the other side they end up referring to them as 'whiggers'. Its not always race, its difference. Chubz you post on here talking about computer games, are excited about them, some of the gaming systems, some are going to say nerd or geek no matter what. Same difference. Sometimes there is race. Sometimes there is just people not liking anything different than their perceived 'normal'. I know plenty of people who see someone with a tattoo and think 'what a low life'. Now I'm sure that there is some racist nature, by some, but while in my opinion, there is some racism in some view, to sit there and try to say that the only reason anythign is said about it is race, is racism as well, just the other way around.
